		<description>Tender is the Night floored me, in my twenties. At the time I was a self-styled, self-deluded, alcoholic writer. Scott Fitzgerald was my main man. I identified with him immensely, of course, picking up only the similarities, rather than the rather glaring differences between us.

I had my very own Zelda. Beautiful, socially gifted, and mad. I studied all Fitzgerald's works, read numerous biographies, his letters, etc. I still love the closing sentence of The Great Gatsby, and when in the right mood, it will make me cry.

That said, I think I'd have little patience for him now.
