Dear People Who Are Building a House Right Next to My Bedroom:
I would like to direct your attention to the following fascinating section of the Fort Bragg Municipal Code:
“Between the hours of ten p.m. of one day and seven a.m. of the following day, it is unlawful for any person within a residential zone, or within a radius of five hundred feet therefrom, to create, cause to be created or maintain sources of noise which cause annoyance or discomfort to a reasonable person of normal sensitiveness in the neighborhood.”
So, it is actually not ok for me to be woken up at 6:30 in the morning by your construction noise. You have been building this house for a very long time, and it is really beginning to grate on me. Your workers idle their extremely loud trucks approximately two feet away from my headboard while they scream at each other. I am consistently woken, every single day including holidays, by the noise of your construction. My work day is constantly disrupted by the noise from your job site.
I was willing to tolerate this until now, because you were not technically doing anything illegal. This, however, is war. If I hear a single nail being hammered before 7:00 AM ever again, I am calling the police.
You have been warned.
The extremely angry person who lives right next to your construction site. And don’t think I’m alone, because I’ll bet the house on the other side of you is pissed too.
p.s. A note to the City of Fort Bragg: if you think for one minute that I am going to tolerate the noise of construction of hideous townhouses for yuppies on the mill site one block away from my bedroom…think again. I will fight any and all proposed construction, not only on the grounds of sheer ugliness, but on the basis of personal sanity.
