Call for submissions: The Big Fat Carnival

It’s my honor to host the second ever edition of The Big Fat Carnival, an institution founded by Alas, a blog. The first edition was amazing, and included pieces on a wide variety of topics by some very talented writers, including of course yours truly.

So here’s the part where you come in, gentle reader: send me your submissions by midnight PST on Sunday, 2 April, for inclusion in the Carnival.

You have a number of exciting options for getting your submission to me:

1. Email me. At meloukhia dot gmail dot com, and please include “Big Fat Carnival Submission” or something along those lines in the subject line. Include, obviously, a permalink to your post. If you’d like to include a brief summary of your post, or information about you/your blog, please do.

2. Use the blog carnival submission form.

3. Enclose the information in a bottle and cast it to sea, hoping it reaches me. (If you choose to use this submission method, please allow six weeks-two years for delivery.)

I will confirm that I have received your submission, so please use a valid email address. Unless you don’t care about whether or not I got your submission, in which case do whatever you want.

If you are sitting here going “what the heck is The Big Fat Carnival?”:

“The Big Fat Carnival is a carnival for collecting some of the best blog posts regarding fat pride; fat acceptance; critiques of anti-fat bigotry, attitudes and research; celebration of images of fat people; practical difficulties of being fat; fat love (queer and otherwise); feminist views of fat and fat acceptance; the health at every size movement (HAES); and whatever else each edition’s editor feels fits into the theme.

(But please note, The Big Fat Carnival is not a place to advocate weight-loss diets, weight loss surgery (WLS), or feederism.)”

The Big Fat Carnival is hosted on the first Tuesday of every even month. The June edition will be located at vegankid, and August’s will be hosted by body impolitic. If you are interested in hosting future editions, contact alas at amptoons dot com for information.
